Get the EasyCard (official website)
It’s quite convenient if you have an EasyCard in Taiwan. You can take the train, bus, or metro, and rent a Youbike. What’s more, all convenience stores and some shops in Taiwan can pay with EasyCard.

Always bring an umbrella
In Taipei, the weather is hard to forecast. Sunny in the morning and suddenly heavy rains in the afternoon. The best way to handle the situation is to bring an umbrella all the time.
Be careful with the vehicles
Pay attention to cars, motorcycles trucks etc. in your country, they may slow down and let you go first. But sometimes it doesn’t happen here. Be careful with the vehicles and follow the traffic lights to protect yourself.
Plan ahead for famous attractions
If you want to visit the Taipei 101 high floor, reserve the ticket online first. That ensures you get the spot to go up and a cheaper price than buying at the front desk.

If visiting 九份 by bus, leave buffer time here as the bus is sometimes not on time.
Join the lucky draw event
Taiwan government has held a lucky draw event for people hold not Taiwanese passports since May 2023. Don’t forget to try your luck by registering for the form before your trip.

(Optional) One day one hand-shake drink
